The Western Region of Ghana continues to rise as a powerhouse of talent, leadership, and cultural pride. Sidney Washington Daniels, the visionary founder of the Ghana Western Achievement & Excellence Awards (GWAEA), is now shaping the awards landscape with bold new initiatives that reflect the region’s growing global influence.

After successfully hosting the 2025 edition, Daniels expands the scheme with fresh categories and a renewed mission to celebrate the people who drive progress across the Western Region.

A Celebration of Identity and Regional Pride

The GWAEA now includes two standout categories, Ghana Western Most Beautiful and Ghana Western Most Handsome, created to honour individuals who embody the elegance, confidence, and cultural identity of the Western Region. These additions strengthen the awards’ connection to the communities they represent.

GWAMLA: A Focused Platform for High‑Impact Leaders

Alongside the GWAEA, Daniels introduces the Ghana Achievement & Millionaires Leadership Awards (GWAMLA), a sister scheme designed to spotlight individuals whose wealth, leadership, and contributions are actively shaping the region’s development.

With only five categories, GWAMLA maintains a sharp focus on merit. Daniels stresses that the honours are non‑hierarchical, ensuring that each recipient is celebrated purely for their achievement under review.

A Moment of Global Pride: Samantha Rockson Honoured in the UK Launch

Western Ghana’s influence continues to extend far beyond national borders. At a recent UK launch ceremony, we were present to witness the recognition of our very own Samantha Rockson, who received honours for her outstanding achievements. Her moment on the international stage reflects the region’s growing global footprint and reinforces the importance of platforms that elevate Western Ghanaian excellence.

A Region Moving Forward With Confidence

The awards continue to attract international attention, drawing UK fashion models, investors, and industry personalities who recognise the Western Region as a rising hub of culture and opportunity. With support from the Western Regional Coordinating Council, the Western Tourism Board, and the Traditional Council, the awards maintain their credibility and regional significance.

Behind the scenes, GWACA, founded in 2021 and rebranded in 2024, remains a driving force in the production of the awards. As it approaches its 5th edition on 28th November 2026, the organisation continues to champion excellence and celebrate the individuals who push the region forward.

A Future Defined by Excellence

With Sidney Washington Daniels at the helm, and with shining figures like Samantha Rockson carrying the region’s brilliance onto international platforms, Western Ghana stands firmly in a new era of recognition, ambition, and global relevance.

The story of the Western Region of Ghana is no longer just local, it is international, inspiring, and still unfolding.
