I’ve learned, both through life and through science, that everything begins with a thought and that single thought becomes the spark that shapes everything that follows: your words, your actions, your behaviour, your habits, and ultimately your character.
This isn’t just philosophy. It’s not just spirituality. It’s not just motivational talk. It’s something I have researched, lived, and proven.
My Journey Into Understanding the Power of Thoughts
During my MSc in Occupational and Business Psychology, my postgraduate research focused on positive and negative self‑talk, specifically how the way we speak to ourselves affects our stress levels and resilience.
What I discovered changed my life. The findings were clear:
Positive self‑talk reduces stress and strengthens resilience
Negative self‑talk increases stress and weakens coping ability
In other words, how you talk to yourself becomes how you experience life.
That research didn’t just give me academic insight, it gave me vocabulary and scientific grounding for something I had always known spiritually.
I Grew Up Knowing Words Were Powerful
As a Christian, prayer was part of my daily life. I was raised to believe that words carry weight, that they create, shift, heal, and transform.
But I wanted more than belief. I wanted scientific evidence. I wanted psychological clarity. I wanted language that explained why words shape reality.
My research gave me that. It connected my faith with my science. It made the invisible visible.
Thoughts → Words → Actions → Behaviour → Habits → Character
Once I understood the science, everything clicked.
My thoughts become my words. My words become my actions. My actions become my behaviour. My behaviour becomes my habits. My habits become my character.
This chain is not poetic, it’s psychological, spiritual, and logical. It explains why guarding your mind is one of the most important responsibilities that you have.
Why I Became Intentional About What I Consume
After completing my research, I realised something powerful:
If my thoughts shape my life, then whatever shapes my thoughts shapes my life too.
That means:
The people around me
The media I consume
The conversations I entertain
The music I listen to
The books I read
The content I scroll through
The environments I sit in
All of these things feed my thoughts and my thoughts feed my future.
So I became intentional, (radically intentional) about surrounding myself with positive, uplifting, educational, and inspirational content and people.
Why Positive Input Matters
My mind is always absorbing. Even silence teaches me something.
When you consistently read, listen to, and watch content that is:
Uplifting
Educational
Positive
Spiritually aligned
Growth‑focusedYour thoughts rise, your words rise, your actions rise and your character rises.
Across faiths and cultures, the message has always been the same:
Bible (Philippians 4:8) – “Think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable.”
Islamic teaching – “The heart becomes rusted; remembrance and good words polish it.”
Buddhist wisdom – “What we think, we become.”
Guard your mind. Feed it well.
Why Your Magazine Was Born
Your Magazine is not just a publication. It is a psychological and spiritual mission to help renew and uplift the minds of people, especially Afroglobal people, a community historically oppressed, depressed, and stripped of pride and confidence, impacting generations that came after.
This magazine was shaped directly from my postgraduate research, aligned with positive psychology and PERMA principles, built on the belief that content can change lives.
Everything I create, every interaction, every project, every initiative, every article, in this magazine is rooted in:
Strengthening resilience
Elevating mindset
Encouraging growth
Inspiring hope
Promoting wellbeing
Feeding the mind with what uplifts
Your Magazine exists because I saw the science, lived the spirituality, and understood the responsibility.
Your Magazine, is an initiative that sits under the Rocks PPR umbrella, which is not just an education, business or leadership consultancy, but it is an organisation that provides a space for development, growth, deep learning, community engagement, empowerment, and hope.
Rocks PR is built on the same foundation as everything else that I do
The belief that thoughts shape lives
The understanding that mindset determines resilience
The commitment to uplift Afroglobal identity
The mission to create environments that strengthen people from the inside out
Through Rocks PPR, we support individuals, organisations, and communities in transforming the way they operate, think, speak, lead, and grow. It is a consultancy, yes! but it is also a learning space, a growth space, a healing space, and a community space.
It is where psychology meets leadership, where identity meets empowerment, where self‑talk meets transformation, where people rediscover their strength, their voice, and their potential.
Rocks PPR is part of the same ecosystem of hope.
My Journey
During the initial period of my personal growth and development, I realised that if I want to build a strong character, I must build strong habits. If I want strong habits, I must build strong behaviour. If I want strong behaviour, I must take strong actions. If I want strong actions, I must speak strong words. If I want strong words, I must think strong thoughts and if I want strong thoughts, I must surround myself with strong, positive, uplifting input and people.
That is why I protect my mind. That is why I curate my environment, that is why I live intentionally, that is why I built Rocks PR, that is why I created Your Magazine..
Because everything begins with a thought, and I choose thoughts that build the life I want.

My Truth
During my initial personal growth process,, which I must say was not easy, I realised that if I want a strong character, I must build strong habits.
That is why I protect my mind, that is why I curate my environment, that is why I live intentionally, that is why I created Your Magazine.
Because everything begins with a thought, and I choose thoughts that build the life I want.
